A city magistrate yesterday remanded a man to prison after he was charged with two counts of robbery, including the theft of $2.1 million.
The first charge read against Shemar Peters stated that on June 27, at South Ruimveldt Gardens, he robbed Basil Alladin, of $2,100,000, which was the property of Deshawn Duke.
It was also alleged that on June 27, at South Ruimveldt Gardens, Peters robbed Adrian Duncan of a $20,000 phone.
Peters pleaded not guilty to the charges.
He was, however, remanded to prison after the prosecutor objected to bail on the grounds that he was positively identified during an identification parade. The prosecution also noted the fact that a dangerous weapon was used in the commission of the crimes.
The proceedings were adjourned until July 14.
