The virtual complainant who was allegedly shot by a former policeman at a popular bar last November, yesterday testified, at the preliminary inquiry (PI) into the attempted murder charge against Lloyd Lyte, before Magistrate Judy Latchman.
Lyte, 43, a former police officer appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan last year and was read a charge, which stated that on November 27, at East Ruimveldt, with the intent to commit murder, he discharged a loaded firearm at Martin Atwell.
During the continuation of the PI, Atwell was led into his evidence in chief by Police Prosecutor Vishnu Hunt.
Also testifying was Police Constable Kevis Thomas, who is stationed at the Criminal Investigations Department Headquarters, Eve Leary, Georgetown, and attached to the Crime Laboratory. Thomas was later cross-examined by Lyte’s lawyer.
Magistrate Latchman later adjourned the matter today for further testimony.
