These women prison warders were on the site on Tuesday assisting with an assessment of the damage done to the jail after Sunday night’s fire and breakout. They told Stabroek News that more than 50% of the staff in the prison service are women and despite the challenges they said the size of their bodies does not matter but it is their mind which has to be ready to face the challenges.
