(IAAF website) National 400m champion, Daniel Williams has qualified for today’s 400m final at the IAAF World U18 Championships in Nairobi, Kenya.
Williams, running in the second heat, finished in third place, with a time of 47.46s behind Jamaica’s Anthony Cox (46.86s) and Nambia’s Ivan Geldenhuys (47.24s), but still managed to snatch the last of the two spots available to the fastest finishers of the three heats.
The final is scheduled for today at 12:10 hours local time (19:10 hours Nairobi time), and Williams will be running in lane two.
Guyana’s other athlete, long jumper Chantoba Bright will be in action on Sunday.
