National and West Indies under-16 player Sachin Singh has taken the opportunity to thank his sponsors for the support that they have shown to him over the years.
Singh who is currently in Trinidad and Tobago, representing Guyana in the Regional 50 under-17 tournament, said that the support has equipped with the right tools to play the sport, while also serving as an encouragement to do well.
“I really just want to thank them (sponsors) for the support they have given me. I’m now even more motivated to perform because I want to make these persons proud because I recognize their efforts,” the left-handed opening batsman said.
Some of his support base includes Chase Academy, Pestex Environmental Solutions, RJ Taxi Service, Lambada Sports bar and Payless Variety Store.
The 15-year old has represented Guyana on four separate occasions, twice as an under – 15 player, and twice at the under – 17 level.
Singh will also head to the United Kingdom in August, for his second tour with the West Indies under-16 team.
He has so far scored two half centuries for Guyana, one at each level, with both knocks coming off the Windward Islands attack, with a top score of 78.
