Western Tigers and Guyana Police Force (GPF) recorded thumping wins over Black Pearl and Beacons, respectively, when the Corona Beer Invitational Football Championship continued on Wednesday.
Staged at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground, Bourda, Western Tigers mauled Black Pearl 13-0. Andrew Murray Jr. recorded a helmet trick in the 15th, 55th, 80th and 83rd minute. He was assisted by Devon Millington, who bagged a brace in the 10th and 29th minute, Hubert Pedro scored in the third and 37th minute, and Dwayne McLennon netted in the 33rd and 59th minute.
Adding to the scoreline were Linden Picketts, Mark Gritten and Darren Benjamin with goals in the 22nd, 59th and 79th minute, apiece.
Similarly, GPF riddled Beacons 14-1.Quincy Holder recorded a helmet-trick in the seventh, 37th, 39th and 45th minute, while Anthio Wallace netted four times in the 21st, 47th, 70th and 78th and Stephan Ramsay scored thrice in the 34th, 42nd and 84th minute.
Contributing a double was Dwain Jacobs in the 72nd and 81st minute, while Jermaine Grandison scored in the 13th minute. For the loser, Christopher Galloway netted in the 43rd minute.
Meanwhile, former Elite League participant GFC lost to Camptown 1-0. Ozeal Small scored in the 41st minute. The event resumes today at the same venue with another tripleheader.
At 17:00hrs, Pele FC battle Eastveldt, while Santos engage Flamingo at 19:00hrs. In the final fixture, Riddim Squad will oppose Northern Rangers at 21:00hrs.
