I read in the newspapers on July 1 about the Grade Six Asessments, and I am surprised at the results from the public schools. I would like the Chief Education Officer to say why most of the children from the public schools did not make the senior secondary schools. St Margaret’s, St Gabriel’s and Graham’s Hall were the only ones.
The syllabuses from the Education Ministry that were given to teachers were too much for the children. There was too much work, and the children worked hard. Parents had to buy too many textbooks and this confused the children. They were pressured with too much to do.
