Guyana’s two boxers competing at the ongoing Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas suffered mixed fortunes yesterday in the ring.
While Keevin Allicock punched his way to clinch a semifinal berth in the 52 kg division, his countryman Christopher Moore lost a five-nil decision to his English opponent, Charles Frankham in their 56kg contest.
Allicock who is at least assured of a bronze medal, will come up against Canadian, Jordan Mathieu today at 14:00hrs in their semifinal bout. The gold-medal chasing Allicock earned a semifinal spot after brushing aside quarterfinal opponent, Kian Bittles of Northern Ireland four to one.
