Played at the Georgetown Club Facility, Arjoon brushed aside Kristian Jeffrey 12 – 14, 11 – 5, 11 – 5, 11 – 6 while Chin, the number two seed, overcame Nyron Joseph 11 – 3, 14 – 12, 9 – 11, 8 – 11, 11 – 3.
The world-ranked Fernandes defeated Caribbean Under-19 champion Taylor Fernandes 11 – 8, 11 – 6, 11 – 0 while Khalil downed Mary Fung-A-Fat 11 – 13, 11 – 5, 11 – 1, 11 – 8.
In the men’s Classic Plate zone, Jason Ray Khalil dismissed Jean Claude Jeffrey 11 – 8, 11 – 9, 11 – 2, while Nicolette Fernandes humbled Shomari Wiltshire 11 – 3, 11 – 2, 11 – 8.
In the men’s Plate section, Steven Xavier defeated Douglas De Groot 16 – 14, 11 – 5, 11 – 4, Nicholas Narain downed Jonathan Antczak 11 – 3, 11 – 5, 12 – 10, Ben Mekdeci cruised past Adam Alves 11 – 3, 11 – 8, 11 – 2 and Javed Rahaman overcame Alex Cheeks 11 – 5, 8 – 11, 11 – 8, 12 – 10.
In the women’s Plate Section, Abosaide Cadogan downed Kirsten Gomes 8 – 11, 11 – 5, 11 – 4, 12 – 10, e Victoria Arjoon edged Rebecca Low 11 – 2, 5 – 11, 11 – 3, 11 – 1 and Makeda Harding defeated Madison Fernandes 12 – 10, 11 – 7, 7 – 11, 11 – 7.
In the Veterans’ 35 – 49 Division, Joe Mekdeci sealed the title, defeating Khalil Alli 12 – 10, 11 – 3, 4 – 11, 7 – 11, 11 – 2.
Medhi Ramdhani defeated Robin Low 11 – 5, 11 – 4, 11 – 2 in the second match of the zone.
In the Veterans’ Over-50 tournament, David Fernandes downed Stephen Persaud 11 – 7, 7 – 11, 18 – 16, 11 – 9. Up to press time, the respective divisional finals were underway.
