Hopetown Rangers and Cougars Football Club ran out winners when the Berbice zone of the National Milling Company (NAMILCO) U17 National League continued on Sunday.
At the Paradise ground, Hopetown grounded Mahaicony Thunder Hawks 3-0. Equano Small, Keysean Walters and Anthony Alexander scored in the 11th, 26th and 69th minute respectively.
Over at the Burnham Park ground, home side Cougars mauled Corriverton Links 8-1. Dwaine Alleyne scored in the third, fourth, 22nd, 46th and 63rd minute.
He was assisted by Lamar Reid, Avion Kendall and Vivian Bowling who scored in the first, 20th and 67th minute respectively.
For the losing team, Neil Jacobs scored in the 32nd minute.
The tournament will continue on Sunday at the No. #5 ground with Monedderlust opposing Paradise Invaders while New Amsterdam (NA) United will face-off with Young Strikers at the Burnham Park ground. Both matches will commence at 15:30hrs.
