Ann’s Grove downed Pele FC by a 3-1 margin, when the Hamilton Green football tournament continued Sunday at the Victoria Community Center ground, East Coast of Demerara.
Daniel Pellew opened the scoring with a ninth minute conversion while Terrence Cummings increased the lead with his 18th minute strike.
The score ballooned to 3-0 two minutes later when veteran striker Delroy Dean found the back of the net. For Pele, Jamal Cozier scored a consolation goal in the 44th minute.
In another fixture, Mahaica Determinators downed Mahaicony Thunder Hawks 3-1. The event will continue on August 18th.
The winning team will receive $500,000 and the Minister of Citizenship Trophy while the runners-up will pocket $250,000 and the Busta Trophy, and the third place finisher $150,000 and the John Fernandes accolade. The fourth place finisher will walk away with $100,000 and the Cummings Electrical trophy.
