Western Tigers, George-town Football Club (GFC), and the Guyana Police Force (GPF) secured contrasting wins when the Corona Beer Invitational football tournament continued on Sunday.
Played at the GFC ground, Bourda, Western Tigers mauled Beacons 13-1. Andrew Murray Jr., netted five times in the 15th, 58th, 59th, 80th and 87th minute while Hubert Pedro bagged a helmet-trick in the 41st, 62nd, 63rd and 67th minute.
Adding solo goals in the 19th, 68th, 76th and 85th minute were Mark Gritten, Lennox Cort, Shane Morris and Darren Benjamin respectively. For the losing team Travis Lyken netted in the 52nd minute.
In another fixture, GFC crushed Black Pearl 6-1. Shaquille Bowen bagged a double in the 22nd and 78th minute while Benjamin Opara, Lavaughn Innis, Joel Humphrey and Alberto Basanta netted in the 14th, 35th, 66th and 73rd minute respectively.
Ocemie Griffith netted in the 58th minute for Black Pearl.
The GPF outflanked Camptown 1-0 via a Dwain Jacobs penalty kick conversion in the 63rd minute.
Winner of the competition will receive $1,000,000 and the championship trophy while the second, third and fourth placed finishers will pocket, $400,000, $200,000 and $100,000 respectively.
