A Bagotville, West Bank Demerara man was arrested after the armed robbery of a La Parfaite Harmonie Supermarket yesterday.
Police Commander of ‘D’ Division Leslie James told Stabroek News that a lone gunman pounced on two staff members of the Jesus Restoreth Supermarket and demanded cash.
James explained that the two workers, who are both teenagers, complied and handed over a quantity of cash from the cash register. The bandit then made a good escape.
However, police, acting on information following a report made by the victims, were able to apprehend the suspect. James added that the police are in pursuit of others as they are believed to all be a part of a criminal gang.
