Dear Editor,
Several opinions have been expressed in the media about the political conflict in our western neighbour. Some regard the government response as a deafening silence and others think that they should decide which side they ought to support.
First of all, anyone can voice their own support for whichever party they decide to give succour to.
This would have nothing to do with the government. However, I humbly submit that the present approach of the government is precisely correct. It is obvious that Guyana is standing away from that melee.
When it comes to standing, a lot of that is scheduled to begin after the UN ‘peace man’ packs his bag and makes his exit in December 2017.
Strengthen your patriotic legs for standing folks.
Yours faithfully,
John De Barros
