Members of Guyana’s contingent for Carifesta XIII will be offering a preview of their performances at a special show this evening at the National Cultural Centre.
According to a release from the Department of Culture, Youth and Sport, the event, dubbed ‘Guyana Night for Carifesta XIII – 2017,’ will showcase the performing arts presentations, including music, dance and spoken word poetry.
The release said the one-hour event, which will be held under the theme “Asserting our Culture, Celebrating Ourselves as an Emerging Green State, has been organised by Dr Seeta Shah Roath.
The event is slated to start at 8 pm. Admission is free.
Guyana will be represented by a 70-member delegation at Carifesta XIII, which is being held from August 17 to August 27, 2017, in Barbados.
