Tucber Park, Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports and Rose Hall Canje recorded wins in the Berbice Cricket Board’s Senior 50 Overs competition which continued last weekend at three venues across the Ancient County.
In West Berbice, at the Bush Lot Community center, Tucber Park defeated Bush Lot by 248 runs. Batting first, Tucber Park rattled up 311 all out in their 50 overs with Devon Clements, 73, Romario Shepherd, 66 and Hakeem Hinds, 50, leading the charge. Bowling for Bush Lot, R. Kishun took 3-16.
In reply, Bush Lot was dismissed for 63 runs in 20.2 overs, with Omar Weatherspoon taking 5 for 10.
Over at the Rose Hall Canje Ground, the hosts defeated West Berbice by 8 wickets in a match reduced to 30 overs.
Batting first, West Berbice only managed a paltry 88 runs, with only C. Harry, 16, Rafael Estriado, 12, and Keith Fraser, 11, getting to double figures. Bowling for the Canje side, Compton Hopes, Ameer Rahaman, Mark Sampson, and Kishan Ramsarran, took two wickets apiece.
Rose Hall Canje replied with 90 for the loss of two wickets, in 16.4 overs, with Kishan Ramsarran, 28, and Adrian Haralsingh, 24, as the main contributors.
Over at the Albion Community Center, Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club (RHTYSC) defeated the Albion Cricket Club by 44 runs in their encounter. Batting first, RHTYSC scored 173 runs all out in 45 overs, with the Sinclair brothers, Junior, Keon and Jason scoring 41, 35 and 31, respectively.
Bowling for Albion, under 17 cricketer Kelvin Omrao was the pick of the bowlers, with 5 wickets for 33 runs, as supported Gudakesh Motie Kanhai with 2 for 10.
In their reply, Albion could only manage 129, with Anthony Bramble scoring 58, and Motie, 32. Sean Pereira and Keith Simpson took three wickets apiece.
The competition will resume on August 27 with the following fixtures: Port Mourant vs Albion at Port Mourant, Rose Hall Town vs UCCA at Area H, Police vs Skeldon at Albion, Young Warriors vs Tucber Park at Young Warriors, and Blairmont vs West Berbice at Blairmont.
