New Amsterdam (NA) Warriors secured their finals berth in the Berbice Amateur Basketball Association (BABA) League Championship, downing Ithaca Hardliners 59-57 on Sunday at the Ithaca Basketball Court. Kwesi Mickel top scored in the win with 17 points. He was assisted by the trident of Kevin Thom, Edmar Semple and Romain Fogenay, who scored in the 11, 10 and eight points respectively.
For the loser, Rayon Solomon led the way with 14 points, while Jaden Smith, Phillip Edwards and Deandre Walcott chipped in with 12, 10 and seven points correspondingly.
With the win, NA Warriors will oppose Rose Hall Town Jammers on Sunday 27th at the NA Basketball Court from 18:00hrs.
The third place fixture at 16:00hrs, will witness Ithaca Hardliners tackling Fyrish Black Sharks. The event is sponsored by Nigel Hinds Financial Net.
