A 90th+3 minute strike secured Western Tigers a 1-1 draw with Georgetown Football Club (GFC), when the Corona Beer Invitational Football Championship continued on Monday at the GFC ground, Bourda.
Dwayne McLennon denied the home side the upset win in the dying seconds, racing down the right flank, before cutting into the penalty area and hammering his effort into the right side.
Prior to the dramatic conclusion, Benjamin Abumchi handed GFC the lead in the 16th minute, directing his header into the back of the net, after latching onto a cross from a free-kick.
Similarly, Camptown battled to a 1-1 draw with Beacons FC. Jamal Codrington earned Camptown a share of the spoils via a 36th minute strike, after Travis Lyken handed Beacons the lead in the seventh minute.
Meanwhile, Eastveldt secured their first win of the event, overcoming Flamingo 3-1. Michael Charles, Travis Hercules and Cordel Johnson scored in the fourth, 88th and 89th minute respectively.
For the loser, Earl Samuels netted in the 27th minute. The event resumes on Friday at the same venue with another tripleheader. In the opening fixture at 17:00hrs, Camptown will oppose Black Pearl.
At 19:00hrs, Northern Rangers will match skills with Flamingo FC, while the feature affair will pit Pele against Riddim Squad from 21:00hrs.
