A so far unidentified man was killed yesterday afternoon after a motor car reportedly slammed into him on the Grove Public Road, East Bank Demerara.
Stabroek News understands that around 5pm yesterday, the victim, a pedal cyclist, was attempting to cross the road when hire car, HC 3809 which was heading to Georgetown reportedly slammed into him.
As a result, of the impact, the victim was pitched off his bicycle and was flung some distance away from the scene.
He sustained mainly head injuries and died while being transported to the hospital.
The driver of the car is presently in police custody assisting with investigations.
