The Guyana Police Force has recorded significant reductions in fatal accidents for June and July of this year.
According to a statistics released by the police force yesterday, there was a 27% decrease in fatal accidents recorded at the end of June, 2017, and also a 25% decrease in such accidents at the end of July, 2017, as compared with the same periods last year.
There were also significant reductions in serious accidents, accidents involving children, damage accidents and minor accidents, according to the statistics.
The force also reported that in relation to traffic violations, 41,170 cases were made, including 13,362 for speeding; 2,071 for breach of conditions of road service licence/music; 1,211 for driving under the influence of alcohol; 850 for use of cell phones while driving; and 724 for tinted vehicle.
