Northern Rangers maintained their grip atop the Group-A standings in the Corona Beer Invitational Football championships after overcoming Flamingo 2-0 on Friday.
It was the fourth win in five games for the Kitty-based unit who sealed the result compliments of first half goals in the game which was played at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground, Bourda.
Stephon Reynolds broke the deadlock through a fifth minute conversion before Sunil Logan effectively put the game to bed with a 29th minute strike.
With the win, Northern Rangers are on 13 points, four ahead of the closest challenger while Flamingo remains at the bottom of Group-A on a solitary point.
In Group B, Camptown downed cellar occupants Black Pearl 2-0 with Okeri Codrington and Ozeal Small netting in the third and 27th minute respectively.
Meanwhile, Pele and Riddim Squad battled to a scoreless draw. The event will resume today at the same venue with another tripleheader.
