The Guyana Water Inc (GWI) has recommended urgent cleaning of the tanks of six primary schools following tests to determine the amount of microbes in the water.
The six schools are: F.E. Pollard Primary, David Street, Kitty; Redeemer Primary, Stone Avenue and Sixth Street, Campbellville; North Georgetown Primary, Woolford Avenue; Agricola Primary, South Ruimveldt Park Primary and St Stephens Primary.
A statement yesterday from GWI said that it is monitoring water quality at schools with the new academic year approaching and emphasis is being place at the moment on nursery and primary schools.
