Stores defeated Trisco by a seven runs in a high-scoring encounter when the Banks DIH Limited Malta Supreme tapeball tournament commenced Monday at the Thirst Park ground.
Asked to take first strike in the 10-overs-a-side contest, Stores racked up an impressive 129/3. Royston Dublin top scored with 42 runs (1×6, 1×4), while Judell McAllister added 34. There were 23 extras.
All-rounder Eon Cassiah was the pick of the Trisco bowlers with figures of 2-20 in two overs. In reply, Trisco fell agonizingly short, ending their innings on a 122/1. Cassiah led the way with an unbeaten 81 littered with 8x6s.
Devon Farley chipped in with 13 runs, while extras added 25 runs to the total. The tournament will resume on September 4th at the same venue with another group stage contest.
