Dear Editor,
I take time out to congratulate Dr George Norton on his ascension to the office of Minister responsible for Culture, Youth and Sport. His predecessor Nicolette Henry seemed woefully out of sync for such a portfolio. It is my belief that Dr Norton will do three times better than Ms Henry who is yet to exhibit a single achievement since taking up the post in 2015. I applaud Dr Norton’s pledge to place focus on sport in the hinterland and would urge him to fully utilize the services of his Director of Sport Christopher Jones and Deputy Permanent Secretary Steve Ninvalle, both of whom have experience in the sports arena. This, I think, will assist in getting back on track the Department of Sport which has been neglected under Henry.
Yours faithfully,
Robert Trim
