A rural constable attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Wismar Police Station was yesterday released on $100,000 bail after being charged with the rape of a minor.
Ewin Trotman, 59, a retired detective sergeant of New Jersey Street, Blueberry Hill, Linden was arraigned before Magistrate Clive Nurse for allegedly having sexual activity with a child by abusing a position of trust on August 21 last.
He was not required to plead to the charge when he appeared in the Linden Magistrate’s Court.
Bail was granted in the sum of $100,000 and the matter was adjourned to October 4 when it will be called again for report and fixture.
