Colts on Tuesday rode roughshod over Sonics defeating them 71-29 when the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) League Championship continued at the Burnham Basketball Court, Middle and Carmichael Streets.
The second-division clash was effectively over at the halftime interval as the home side romped to a 41-9 lead at the halftime interval.
The first period set the trend for the contest with Colts recording 27 points to Sonics’ three points.
The host’s built on their advantage in the second quarter tallying 14 points while restricting the visitors to just three more points.
Colts continued their dominance in the third period, outscoring Sonics 16-9 to enter the final quarter firmly in control at 57-18. The result was then sealed as Colts outhustled Sonics 14-11.
Jonathan Mangra top scored with 17 points, while Timothy Thompson, Jamal Weekes and Quacey Lindo added 14, 12 and 10 points respectively.
For the losing team, Terrence Odin battled to 17 points while Jack Vicente added nine points. The event resumes today at the same venue with another doubleheader.
