Yesterday’s Bounty Farm XV’s game which was scheduled to involve the Guyana defence Force (GDF) and the Caribs was postponed due to an inadequate number of match officials.
According to president of the Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU), Peter Green, the absent match officials could not attend to their part time duties since some of them had to be at their full time jobs.
Green noted that the union will work to get the situation ironed out before the league which concludes on November 12, continues this weekend.
Green also disclosed that the fixture will remain the same and the game between GDF and the Caribs “will be played down the line.”
In the opening game of the league Saturday, the Panthers demolished the Police Falcons 67-7.
Notes: THE BOUNTY FARM XV’s TOURNAMENT runs until November 12, with five teams playing two rounds of matches. The teams, mainly men, will play 20 matches on the weekends.
The females will play Sevens games starting next week.
The Bounty Farm 15s title was last won by the former UG Wolves, (now the Panthers) a team which is coached by Laurie Adonis. (Emmerson Campbell)
