Nets and Eagles won matches in the Open and U23 divisions when the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) League Championship continued on Saturday.
Nets downed fierce rival Sonics 77-60 at the Burnham Court on Carmichael and Middle Streets.
Vanrick Fields scored 16 points while Hodyah Smith, Darion Lewis and Antwoine Austin supported with 13, 12 and 11 points respectively for Nets.
Chipping in with nine, seven and five points each were Pelham Doris, Mortimer Robertson and Michael Richards.
For Sonics, Trevor Smith scored the game-high 19 points while Earl O’Neil battled to 17 points.
Supporting with eight, six, five and four points respectively were Joel Schultz, Kerwin Jackson, Junior Lovell and Richard Heyliger. Meanwhile Eagles defeated Plaisance Guardians 78-68. Travis Belgrave netted 30 points while Kwesi Thompson, Shamar Huntley and Patrice Agrippa added 17, 12 and eight points respectively.
For Plaisance Guardians, Nigel Bowen scored 22 points while Jared Sears chipped in with 12 points.
Contributing nine, eight and seven points each were Akeem Crandon, Anton Fileen and Almond Bovell.
