Jermaine Easton, who police say was found with small amounts of cocaine and cannabis, was yesterday granted his release on bail on two drug charges.
Easton was read a charge which stated that on September 8, at Waterloo Street, South Cummingsburg, he had 0.2 grammes of cocaine in his possession. It was further alleged that on the very date and at the same location, Easton had 4.5 grammes of cannabis in his possession.
Easton, 40, pleaded not guilty to the charges, which were read to him by Georgetown Magistrate Judy Latchman.
Police Prosecutor Shawn Gonsalves made no objection to bail being granted.
Magistrate Latchman later granted the accused his release on a total of $60,000 bail; $30,000 on each charge. He is to return to court on October 9.
