Citing recent hurricane activity, the state-owned Guyana Oil Company yesterday announced that fuel prices will be going up with effect from today.
Gasoline will rise by $14 per litre, kerosene by $10, ULSD Gasoil by $15 and Gasoil (LSD) by $6.
In a statement, GUYOIL Marketing and Sales Manager, Eric Whaul said that a significant rise in acquisition costs at source has made the increases necessary. He said that the recent hurricane activity had exacerbated the situation, triggering a spike in market prices. He said that GUYOIL had maintained stable fuel prices since January 1, 2017 despite fluctuations.
