PhotosNo workBy Stabroek News September 15, 2017 A little over a week after Stabroek News highlighted the fact that workers on the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) building on Camp Street were working without safety gear, operations seem to have stopped. Stabroek News had reached out to the Ministry of Social Protection’s Department of Labour about the issue and was told that an officer would visit the site. Chief Labour Officer Charles Ogle explained yesterday that though an officer had been sent to the site he was not in a position to comment on the officer’s possible findings since training sessions have left the office empty all week. Meanwhile, Commissioner General of GRA, Godfrey Statia noted that the matter is one about which the contractor INFAM should be called to account.Comments
