The Police Falcons recorded their first victory of the season albeit by walkover against the Caribs when the Bounty Farm 15s League continued yesterday at the National Park.
The Caribs were unable to field a full team against Guyana’s youngest and most inexperienced rugby outfit and the match officials subsequently awarded the victory to the Falcons.
With the field empty, the national women’s team used the opportunity to get some much needed practice ahead of the RAN 7s Championship scheduled for Mexico in November.
The League continues today at 16:00hrs with the Panthers tackling the Pepsi Hornets.
In the opening game of the league two weeks ago, the Panthers demolished the Police Falcons 67-7.
Notes: THE BOUNTY FARM XV’s TOURNAMENT runs until November 12, with five teams playing two rounds of matches. The teams, mainly men, will play 20 matches on the weekends.
The females will play Sevens games starting next week.
The Bounty Farm 15s title was last won by the former UG Wolves, (now the Panthers) a team which is coached by Laurie Adonis.
