A 16-year-old miner was yesterday brought before a city court charged with the year-old murder of a farmer.
The teenager, of Kassi Creek, Baramita, was brought before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, during an in camera hearing.
It is alleged that on October 12, 2016, at Baramita, the teen murdered Abraham Williams.
Chief Magistrate McLennan remanded the accused and adjourned the matter to November 7, when it will be called at the Matthews Ridge Magistrate’s Court.
The young man will remain at the juvenile holding centre until his next court date.
According to information received by this newspaper, on the day in question the accused and Williams, 37, were drinking, when a fight ensued and Williams was stabbed in his neck.
