Last year’s most improved cyclist, Shaquel Agard has been invited to be a part of the Team Econo Car, a star studded team of cyclists to compete in Trinidad and Tobago starting on Sunday.
The Linden Bauxite Flyers standout will team will cyclists from the Caribbean, North and South America and Europe in the outfit managed by Roger Farrell and Peter Sue.
First up, Agard will start his quest to impress his teammates in the Michael Phillips Republic Day Classic in Port of Spain followed by the Tobago Cycling Classic from September 27. The Classic culminates on October 3 on Beacon Avenue with a criterium race.
Earlier this year, Agard, 20, spent some time in Pennsylvania USA training under the watchful eyes of US Masters Criterium champion, Aubrey Gordon.
The Tobago Classic is a UCI sanctioned event.
