An East La Penitence taxi driver accused of stealing an iPad and other items, denied the charge yesterday when he appeared before a city court.
Forty-year-old Allister Norton, who resides in the East La Penitence squatting area, appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly where a charge was read to him stating that on September 14th, at Vlissengen Road, he stole an iPad worth $173,000, a handbag valued at $20,000 and a $15,000 computer bag, all belonging to Francis Parris.
No other facts on the matter were presented to the court.
There being no objection to bail from the prosecution, Daly granted Norton bail in the sum of $100,000.
The matter has been adjourned to October 11th, and was transferred to Court 5, where Magistrate Fabayo Azore presides.
