Queen’s College, Bishops’ High and St Rose’s secondary Schools won their respective zones at the North Georgetown swimming championships on Monday.
Queen’s College amassed a total of 289 points to win Zone One from Marian Academy on 154 points and Chase Academy who was third with 112 points.
Among the outstanding swimmers in Zone One were Antonio Rodrigues (QC) and Daniel Scott (Chase Academy) who were victorious in their events with Rodrigues winning the boys U14 100 freestyle event and Scott the boys Open 50m breaststroke event.
Bishops’ High School won Zone Two with a total of 165 points with Christ Church Secondary in second place with 158 points and the Guyana Education Trust, third on 124 points. Among the outstanding swimmers were Lian Winter who won the girls U14 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke events while Raekwon Noel won the boys U16 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle events.
St. Rose’s High School won Zone Three with 156 points while St. Stanislaus College placed second with 122 points and Brickdam Secondary third with 41 points. The outstanding swimmers were Nikhil Ramnarine who won the boys U18 50m breaststroke, 50m butterfly and the 50m freestyle races and Alex Winter who won the 50m breaststroke in the boys Open category.
Westfield Prep School won Zone Four from St Margaret’s.
Kyra Soares and Jasmine Alleyne were among the outstanding swimmers in the zone while other outstanding swimmers included Christ Church’s Leon Seaton (boys Under 14), St. Rose’s Amy Grant (girls Under 16) and School of the Nations Accalia Khan (girls Open).
