Action in the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/ Nobel House second-division, two-day competition continued yesterday with Everest Cricket Club being dismissed at end of the rain-affected day while the University of Guyana (UG) found themselves in a bit of bother against the Malteenoes Sports Club.
Everest was bundled out for 213 against the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) just before stumps on day one after winning the toss and electing to bat. Saheed Mohamed was in top form and narrowly missed scoring a century.
He struck 97 an innings which included eight fours and five sixes. He received support from Dwayne Adams who contributed 33.
The bowling for GCC was spearheaded by Stephon Wilson (4-25) and Marlon Persaud (3-64) who were the main wickettakers.
Meanwhile, UG ended the day in a less than ideal position on 101 – 6 against Malteenoes over at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground, Bourda at stumps. At the crease is Devon George unbeaten on 25 while Keron Sewnarine (21) and Melroy Stephenson (19) were the batsmen dismissed after getting starts.
Carlyle Collins and Marcus Watkins have so far taken two wickets each.
