Dear Editor,
The Good Hope, Hand-en-Veldt Mahaica sideline dam (Jagg/Saridam) needs resurfacing with bitumen. It has been in a bad condition for over 15 years. Its only access bridge has two broken boards.
The sideline dam is the only one in the area that interconnects directly with the old road and the East Coast Highway. No one of substance lives in this area, which is why I am highlighting this problem from a layman’s perspective on behalf of the community. I am hoping that the RDC Region 4 or central government does something about it. Dozens of vehicles traverse this dam daily.
I want to thank you for publishing my letter regarding my landline/internet malfunction on August 21; two days later four technicians came and fixed it.
