Ravens and Amelia’s Ward Jets stormed their way to the semi-finals after defeating Plaisance Guardians and Half Mile Bulls respectively when the sixth annual Brusches’ Classic Basketball Championships continued Sunday at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) Hardcourt, Linden.
Ravens toppled Guardians 74-65. Ryan Stephney top scored for the victor with a game-high 26 points while Jermain Slater added 13 points and Ryan Gullen and Tyrone Hamid 11 points each.
For Guardians, Nikoloi Smith shot his way to 25 points while N. Yisrael and Trenton Woolford added 11 and 10 points respectively.
Meanwhile, Jets dismantled Bulls 80-54.Adrian Webster led the way with 14 points while Akeem Kanhai and Joel Webster chipped in with 13 and 10 points respectively. For Bulls, Michael Turner, Terron Welch and Vibert Benjamin scored 15, 13 and 13 points apiece.
