(Trinidad Express) Cocorite resident Sayid Callender was shot then stabbed after being approached by two men, one of whom greeted him with a handshake.
The killing of Callender, 21, which happened at around 6.15p.m. on Sunday is being described as an execution.
Officers say that Callender was liming with some friends along Cocorite Terrace, when they were approached by two men.
One of the men called out Callender’s name and reached out to shake Callender’s hand in a greeting. Then the shooting began.
Callender was shot multiples times then stabbed repeatedly in the upper body.
Residents rushed the 21-year-old to the St James District Hospital where he was treated, before being transferred to the Port of Spain General Hospital.
He died two hours later.
