Home side Golden Stars muzzled Plaisance Panthers 4-0 when the East Coast of Demerara leg in the National Milling Company (NAMILCO) U17 Football League continued on Saturday.
It was the Shawn Adonis show at the Golden Grove ground as the forward recorded a hat-trick. Adonis broke the deadlock in the 11th minute compliments of a penalty kick conversion.
He then doubled the lead via a 19th minute strike. Dextroy Culpepper further increased the lead, etching his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 33rd minute.
Adonis completed his hat-trick to seal the result with a 78th minute effort.
Meanwhile, Mahaica Determinators and Ann’s Grove battled to a 1-1 stalemate. Shane Higgins gave Ann’s Grove the lead compliments of a 47th minute effort. However, Mahaica equalised through Orlan Adams in the 75th minute.
The event continues on Saturday at the same venue with a doubleheader. At 13:00hrs, Bachelors Adventure/Paradise will lock horns with Beterverwagting (BV)/Triumph/ In the second matchup from 15:00hrs, Golden Stars will lock horns with Buxton United.
