Seven men have been held by the police over the possession of two pistols.
Acting on information this morning at about 4.30, the police went to a house at Bourda, Georgetown, where they conducted a search and found a .32 pistol with three matching rounds of ammunition, under a pillow in a bedroom.
The suspect, a 28-year-old is in police custody assisting in the investigation.
Meanwhile, six men between the ages of 18 and 39 years-old were arrested following the finding of a .32 pistol with magazine by a Police Anti-Crime Unit patrol at about 11.30 last night on Norton Street, Bagotstown, East Bank Demerara. The men were at the junction on Norton Street when they were intercepted. They are in custody assisting in the investigation.
