The semi-final round of the annual Hamilton Green Football Championship, resumes next Friday at the Victoria Community Centre ground.
The opening match will pit Soesdyke Falcons against Winners Connection from 19:00hrs. In the second contest at 21:00hrs, the Guyana Police Force will take aim at Milerock.
Winner of the tournament will receive $500,000 and the Minister of Citizenship Trophy while the runners-up will pocket $250,000 and the Busta Trophy.
The third place finisher will collect $150,000 and the John Fernandes trophy while the fourth place finisher will walk away with $100,000 and the Cummings Electrical Trophy
Meanwhile, the Hamilton Green 83rd birth anniversary 9-a-side Inter-Ward Football Cup will also commence on the same date and at the same venue.
The event is being staged in honour of the former Prime Minister and Mayor, who celebrates his birthday today.
Winner of the event will receive $70,000 and a trophy. They will also receive food hampers from Ricks and Sari and blankets from Food for the Poor Guyana.
The runner-up will pocket $30,000. On the individual side, the Highest Goal Scorer will receive a three piece suite from China Trading.
Among the teams set to participate are Buxton Youth Developers, Plaisance, Herstelling, Buxton Stars, Mahaica, Golden Grove, Ann’s Grove, Lima Dam, Pouderoyen, Bagotsville, Crane, Kuru-Kururu, Uitvlugt, Wales, Den Amstel and Sara Lodge.
The playing dates for the event are November 17th, 18th at the Den Amstel ground as well as November 25th [quarterfinal stage] at the aforesaid venue and November 30th [semi-final and final] at the Victoria Community ground.a
