Leea Coccinea ‘Rubra’ commonly called Hawaiian or West Indian Holly originated in Burma and comes from the Leeaceae family.
Leea ‘Rubra’ has burgundy to red foliage with a glossy texture. Leea ‘Rubra’ is grown for its exotic foliage. When in bloom, tiny clusters of bright red berries appear.
Leea ‘Rubra’ makes excellent potted house plants. To encourage plant to bush, trim periodically. It can be grown outdoor under semi shade. Plant in well-drained soil and water moderately. Fertilize with Miracle Gro All Purpose Plant Food once every 2 weeks.
Leea ‘Rubra’ has adapted well in Florida and the Caribbean and has become a tropical shrub.
