A Bartica man was yesterday charged with the theft of over $650,000 in valuables.
Sylvester Croft, 28, was brought before Magistrate Fabayo Azore to answer to the theft charge at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court 5.
The charge states that between November 8 and November 9, Sylvester stole a Honda motorcycle, valued at $650,000, a gas burner, valued at $4,000 and a gas cylinder, valued at $12,000, which were the property of Mario John.
After Croft pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted his release on $150,000 bail, the case was adjourned until today, when it is to be called before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan for assignment.
