A police rank who allegedly provided the gun used in the murder of popular businessman Godfrey Scipio during last month has been taken into custody for questioning.
Commander of ‘A’ Division Marlon Chapman yesterday confirmed that the rank was arrested on Tuesday.
Stabroek News understands that the rank is being accused of providing his service firearm to the prime suspect.
On October 17, the prime suspect Aubrey Bobb, 26, of 79 William Street, Kitty, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, who read a charge which alleged that on October 12, at Stanley Place, Kitty, he murdered Scipio, in the course or furtherance of a robbery.
