A mason is now hospitalised after being shot during an argument with another man, whom he had accused of having an affair with his wife.
Fazel Haniff, 27, a resident of Mon Repos Pasture, East Coast Demerara , was shot once to his stomach during the altercation. He was later admitted to the Woodland’s Hospital, where he is said to be in a stable condition.
The suspect managed to flee after the shooting and was yet to be apprehended up to last evening.
The shooting occurred around 9pm on Friday at Haniff’s house.
A police source told Sunday Stabroek Haniff and his wife were at home when the suspect visited and an argument erupted.
During the encounter, Haniff reportedly armed himself with a knife and the suspect whipped out a gun and discharged a round in his direction, hitting him in the stomach.
