West Berbice and Lower Corentyne yesterday recorded victories in second round action of the Guyana Cricket Board Jaguars 50 Overs League.
West Berbice got the better of East Coast by five runs at the Enterprise Community Centre Ground on the back of excellent seam bowling from Keon Joseph and Stephan Harris who combined for seven wickets to restrict their counterparts.
West Berbice after being inserted, were dismissed for 145 in the 38th over of their inning, with opening batsman Raffel Estraido top scoring with 32, inclusive of three boundaries.
Only Arthley Bailey (25) and Steffon Adams (19*) added any real substantive scores to the total, as leg-spinner Amir Khan snared 4 -33, while receiving support from the Yadram brothers, Bhaskar and Kamesh, who picked up two wickets for 15 and 22 runs respectively.
East Coast, however, fell five short in their reply, as Harris (4-15) and Joseph (3-17) combined their efforts to sniff out a victory.

Over at Albion, Lower Corentyne continued their winning ways by hammering East Bank by eight wickets.
East Bank was bundled out for 99 in 31.1 overs, with Sherfane Rutherford top scoring with 22, as Sharaz Ramcharran (4-20) and Veerasammy Permaul (3-17) spun webs around the East Coast batsmen.
Lower Corentyne then completed the pounding by reaching 102 – 2, with more than half the overs to spare, as Kevlon Anderson (40*) and Gajanand Singh (37) enjoyed a good outing.
All other matches were abandoned without a ball being bowled. Round three will be played tomorrow.
