Dear Editor,
I wish to convey my deepest condolences to the wife and family members of Mr Ali Baksh who passed away recently at his Cotton Field, Essequibo residence.
Mr Baksh will be remembered for the active role he played in the struggle for a democratic and better Guyana. He was a senior member of the PPP and served as Regional Chairman and Minister within the Ministry of Agriculture during the previous PPP/C administration. It was indeed an honour to have worked and interacted with him both at the political and at the administrative levels. He will surely be missed by his party comrades and friends.
I wish to also extend condolences to former Regional Chairman Mr Rohit Persaud and his wife on the passing of their son. I know this is a painful moment for the family but I hope they garner the strength to overcome.
May the souls of the deceased rest in peace.
