The Guyana Police Force (GPF) will oppose Camptown tonight from 21:00hrs in the inaugural Turbo Energy Drink Knockout football final at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
The lawmen were in rampant form throughout the tournament and is widely considered the favourite by many analysts heading into the showdown.
The numbers speak for themselves with nine goals recorded by a dangerous frontline in three matches at an average of three goals per match. Defensively, the offers have been equally impressive, with only one goal conceded.
Dwain Jacobs, Rawle Haynes, Quincy Holder and Philbert Moffatt are the main players in attack for a side that has dismissed the challenges of Grove Hi-Tech [3-1 in the semi-final round], Kuru-Kururu [1-0 in the quarterfinal round] and Eagles [5-0 in the round of 16 section].
For Camptown, a battle tested route was travelled to arrive at the championship fixture.
From the attacking perspective, Camptown has scored four goals in their campaign at an average of 1.33 goals per fixture.
On the defensive end, the dogged Campbellville backline has only allowed one goal, on par with their impending foe.
Ozeal Small has been the main threat for Camptown with two goals with the other conversions coming off the boots of Wayne Sharples and Richie Richards respectively.
These conversions helped to secure wins against Pouderoyen [1-0 in semifinal round], Silver Shattas [7-6 on sudden death penalty kicks after normal time ended 1-1 in their quarterfinal] and Buxton Stars [2-0 in the round of 16 category].
Meanwhile, the third place fixture at 18:30hrs will pit Pouderoyen FC against Grove Hi-Tech.
Winner of the event will receive $500,000 and the championship trophy while the runners-up will pocket $250,000 and the corresponding accolade.
On the other hand, the third and fourth place finishers will walk away with $125,000 and $75,000 apiece and the respective trophy. The event is coordinated by the Petra Organization.
